Meera Lee | PhD, LP

Lacanian Psychoanalyst | New York City

Professor of Asian American Studies | Hunter College, CUNY

Psychoanalyst

Meera Lee is a Lacanian psychoanalyst, licensed in New York State, in private practice in Manhattan, New York City. Her work follows the Lacanian orientation, developed by Jacques Lacan and his editor Jacques-Alain Miller, centered on the ethics of speech and the singular logic of the symptom. Her practice offers a space for the subject to encounter the structure of desire and the unconscious beyond the aim of symptom management.

She works with individuals across diverse professional and cultural backgrounds, with a particular interest in intellectual and creative impasses (academics, graduate students, and artists); the subject in culture (Asian American or immigrant experience, achievement, and family expectations); and clinical areas including anxiety, depression, trauma, sexuality, and the impasses of love and work. Her practice is open to anyone seeking a deeper encounter with the unconscious structures of their life.

Meera Lee continues her analytic formation with members of the École de la Cause freudienne (ECF) in Paris and the New Lacanian School (NLS) in London—the leading schools of the World Association of Psychoanalysis (WAP), founded by Jacques-Alain Miller. An author and translator of works in Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis, she has lectured internationally on the work of Freud and Lacan. She completed her licensure-qualifying psychoanalytic training at the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis (NPAP) in New York City

Analysis is offered in English and Korean.
